Please join HCI staff, volunteers, and dogs for the semi-annual open house at "Sadie's Place," the HCI Training Center.

HCI Therapy Team Margot and Leo share their aloha with the disabled veterans living at the VA Community Living Center on Oahu. The veterans look forward to their weekly visits and enjoy petting and playing with Leo. "We love the visits," says Margot. "It's an honor for us to give back to people who have given so much for our country. Leo enjoys it as much as I do. He always looks forward to seeing his favorite heroes."

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service to others." ~Gandhi

Arnold is 10 months old and is looking forward to following in the big service-dog paw prints of his Dad, Trooper. Arnold is a good dispositioned puppy who loves to please. He enjoys watching the birds eat at the feeder and playing "football." He has an excellent sense of balance that he isn't afraid to test, sometimes by making sure the rocking chair still works. He loves to pick up things that have been dropped, carrying water and juice bottles, and his metal food dish. Arnold also loves children, playing games, lounging by the fireplace, belly-rubs, smelling the flowers, and kisses.

Thanks to all the wonderful sponsors, volunteers and supporters who made our 5th Annual Valentine's Benefit such a huge success! A special mahalo to Kim Gennaula and Guy Hagi for doing such a great job as emcees. Please click above to see pictures of the event on Facebook

Thanks to the Haiku Elementary Kindergarten class for their recent visit to Sadie's Place, the HCI Maui Campus. The students learned about Service Dogs and different types of disabilities. They participated in training exercises and helped to groom the dogs. It was hard to tell who had more fun....the children or the dogs!
