SHARING ALOHA...

Hospital Facility Dog Yoda was recently featured on KITV News in a story about breast cancer awareness. Yoda is one of the most popular staff members at The Queen's Medical Center, where he provides comfort and courage to patients receiving treatment at the Queen's Cancer Clinic.  Yoda brings a smile to everyone he meets and helps patients and their families through a difficult time.

PUPPY PIN-UP: OPAL

Opal is a gentle and happy puppy who is just about to celebrate her four month birthday! She traveled all the way from Guide Dogs Queensland in Australia with her three siblings.  She loves playing with the older puppies in training and enjoys watching them in their classes. She is a quick learner and shines in Kindergarten puppy class where she is learning commands like sit, shake, go to bed, and roll.  She recently traveled to Oahu with her brothers and sister to attend our Giving Thanks benefit event, impressing airline stewardesses and our event guests with her impeccable manners! We have high hopes for her future!

" At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.  Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."

-- Albert Schweitzer

GIVING THANKS!

Mahalo to all of our dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors and over 150 guests who made our "Giving Thanks" benefit event at the Waialae Country Club such a big success. Our inspiring graduate teams and puppies in training stole the show as those in attendance learned about the many ways that dogs can help those in need. Over $30,000 was raised to help us continue providing professionally trained Assistance Dogs and lifetime follow-up support free of charge.

A HERO TO HEROES

Therapy Dog Zeke leads an exciting life working with some of our nation's bravest people. Zeke spends every day with veterans, wounded warriors, active military personnel and their families. Besides providing comfort for veterans with physical disabilities and PTSD, he is an athletic dog who also enjoys playing fetch and trail running. His friends say that his loving nature and gentle spirit are the best medicine!
