High Performance Training Tips
Dear Friend,
"Never Take the Speed Away!"

Last week I had a meeting with Toronto strength coach, Justin Roche. As the meeting finished I asked him, what is your best
training tip?

He answered without hestitation: "Never take the speed away."

Speed is one of the 8 bio-motor abilities (See my article Mastering The development of Bio-motor abilities). And in many sports, speed is a key component of succesful performance.

"Speed is the ultimate weapon," is another saying revolving around speed.

Speed can mean many things depending on what you are training for. You can want speed of reaction, speed of a punch, speed
in starting, stopping and changing direction  or linear speed.

Always maintain a speed component relevant for you in some aspect of the training. You should not attempt to peak with regard to speed all the time. In early training phases you do speed training, but your speed should not peak.

Some of the all-time best exercises for speed training include sprinting, working on punching bags, olympic weightlifts, plyometric training, medicine ball training and training with agility ladders.

Move with Passion.
