High Performance Training Tips
Dear Friend,
"Get out or go home!"

I have a thought experiment for you:

First, imagine doing your workout in your gym.

See the weights, the machines.

See the other members as they perform their workouts.

Hear the music, feel the energy.

Breathe in the air: How is it?  Fresh or heavy?

How is the smell?

Next, imagine being on a beach at sunrise or at sunset.

You have brought a couple of dumbells or kettlebells, maybe even a barbell and a few discs.

Feel the cool air on your skin, listen to the waves as they come in.

Feel the sand in your toes?

Do a few sets of your chosen exercise and pay attention to your bodily feelings.

If you are not already doing so, do you think you would enjoy working out on the beach? Or, if you do not live close to the beach just work out outside?

I hope your answer is yes.

If you want to tap into an overlooked aspect of effective high performance training, I urge you to get outside. Now is the perfect time to do it.

There are solid indications that working out outside is superior to working out in the gym for a number of reasons. I might expand on these reasons in future high performance training tips.

Get out(side) or go home :-)

PS: If you choose to go outside, make sure to train in early morning hours or before sunset. Do not get burned!
