Dear Friend,
"Why You Did Not"
Monday's High Performance Training Tip talked about the importance of writing down exactly WHAT YOU DID in training. That is only half the puzzle though. Sometimes, it is the right thing NOT to perform the scheduled program. Training diaries should be analyzed every 4-6 weeks and if you look back on a diary with several missed exercises or training sessions skipped, you need to know why in order to learn from what happened. No, you cannot remember it. Not in enough detail. This feature of a training diary is especially important if you are a trainer and analyse the diaries of your clients/athletes. This is why I always tell my athletes that the training diary should state, "What you did or why you didn't." A simple notebook can be a faboulus training diary, but I have created a much better template. A template that also helps you keep track of your emotions and helps you specify short term goals. Move with passion,
