The City of Burlington's Official Plan Review: Community Energy Planning Event

September 23, 2013

The Community Energy Planning event will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at 7:00 pm.  The previous email incorrectly stated the event would be held on Tuesday, September 25th.

Community Energy Planning with Brent Gilmour, Executive Director, Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow (QUEST)

The City of Burlington is currently in the midst of our Official Plan Review and working on a Transportation Master Plan.  But where and how does energy fit into this equation? Why should we think about energy while planning for community growth and improvements to our transportation network?  Furthermore, what does energy have to do with our quality of life, local economic competitiveness and environmental benefits?

The City has produced a draft Community Energy Plan focusing on conservation, energy efficiency, generation and security, land use and growth, and transportation and is available for public review and feedback.

Come hear Brent as he helps us understand the linkages between energy, land use and transportation planning and how everything is connected to everything. Brent is a registered professional planner with more than seven years of specialized knowledge in the areas of integrated community energy, transportation and land-use planning; downtown revitalization; and, public infrastructure investment. A passionate champion for sustainable development, he is a strong advocate for competitive, resilient and integrated energy planned community and competitive fiscal policy.
