Since its introduction in 1995, laser hair removal has come a long way. It’s now one of the most popular medical cosmetic procedures, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASPS), with more than one and a half million treatments performed last year.
It's not hard to understand why the laser method has been so well-received. The procedure is fast, easy, and quickly clears large body areas that would otherwise require repeated shaving, painful waxing or messy usage of chemical depilatories. During laser treatment, light energy is delivered to the targeted area and absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles.
