Each person will be given 2 vials of the product. One vial would be put on the right side only and the other on the left side of the designated area. Results will then be evaluated in our office.

MD Lash Factor Wins International Award

Thinning eyelashes are a common problem and can occur as a result of various allergies, usage of certain eye makeup, as a side effect of different medications or conditions, in response to exposure to toxins, after eye surgery, and from nutritional deficiencies. The most common culprit is often age, as hair on many parts of the body starts to lose its fullness and luster.

Mascara and false eyelashes can provide the illusion of volume, but both of these solutions are temporary.

Now there’s a way to improve the quality of the eyelashes themselves. MD Lash Factor, developed by Dr. Susan Lin, is an eyelash conditioner that has been shown to promote the appearance of longer, fuller, thicker eyelashes in as little as one week. After four weeks of nightly use, participants in clinical studies found an average increase in eyelash length of 53%.

The product is hypoallergenic, and safe for persons with sensitive eyes as well as contact lens wearers.

In June 2008, MD Lash Factor was awarded Personal Care Product of the Year by ICMAD (Independent Cosmetic Manufacturing and Distributors) at its fifth annual CITY (Cosmetics Innovators of the Year) Awards. The awards recognize innovation in cosmetics manufacturing; recipients are determined by a panel of expert judges who have worked for top cosmetics companies such as Clearasil, Crest, Helene Curtis and Clairol.

Of the net proceeds of MD Lash Factor, 5% benefits Autism Initiatives.

Banish Cellulite With Dermawave

Over the years, cellulite has proven to be one of the hardest beauty flaws to beat. Affecting more than 80% of women regardless of weight or size, cellulite can’t be dieted away or worked off at the gym. Even liposuction has only a limited ability to reduce it.

Now, however, a new device has been shown to be able to combat cellulite.

Dermawave uses laser and electrical energy to stimulate microcirculation and lymphatic drainage, thereby allowing the body to naturally eliminate the fat deposits causing cellulite. It creates effects similar to mesotherapy, but does not require the use of needles.

Depending upon the severity of the cellulite, most people need a series of 8 to 10 treatment sessions to achieve their goals, although results are often seen after 5 or 6 treatments. Each treatment lasts about 30 minutes.

Dermawave can also be used for spot fat reduction and for facial skin rejuvenation.

New Research: Restylane Creates Collagen

Restylane has been found to be much more than a mere wrinkle filler, according to a recent study conducted at the University of Michigan Medical School. Last year, researchers there discovered that along with restoring a firm foundation underneath facial skin, allowing skin to lie smooth and wrinkle-free, the product also stimulates the body's natural collagen-producing processes. This suggests that aside from offering a temporary solution to wrinkles, Restylane can also improve the quality of aging, sun-damaged skin over the long term.

FDA-approved Restylane is an injectable gel containing hyaluronic acid, a natural, plant-derived substance that binds to water molecules in the skin and provides support for surface tissues. In their independent study, the University of Michigan scientists found that Restylane also acts on collagen-producing cells called "fibroblasts," prompting them to stretch and produce more of the protein essential for youthful skin. After a few treatments, users of Restylane may find they need smaller amounts of the product as their skin quality improves.

More than a million wrinkle filling injections are performed in the U.S. each year.  Although other substances including bovine collagen, human collagen and various synthetic materials are also used to plump wrinkles, Restylane is currently the most popular as it provides excellent results with minimal disruption to the skin. In 2002, for example, a six-center clinical study showed that Restylane lasted significantly longer than bovine collagen when injected into the creases around the mouth and nose (nasolabial folds). Bovine collagen had previously been the gold standard for wrinkle filling.

Through September 30, receive $50 off the first syringe of Restylane and $100 off the second!

Avoid the Freeze with Botox

Good Botox injections do more than just erase wrinkles – they also provide a natural look, so the face looks rested but not frozen.

Many years ago when Botox was relatively new, less was known about how best to use this muscle relaxant.

After some patients received too much Botox, or injections in the wrong areas, their facial expressions were temporarily affected and Botox took the blame.

A lot has changed, though, since Botox received FDA approval in 2002 to improve frown lines. The studies conducted for that approval established protocols for the optimum usage of Botox. And physicians around the world have gained more experience with Botox, so usage of the product is now well understood.

Injection with Botox takes about 15 minutes. Shortly thereafter, Botox begins blocking nerve transmission to specific muscles, putting those muscles to rest for the next few months. That causes wrinkles in the affected muscles to virtually disappear. The full effects of Botox appear within 2 to 10 days after injection and results last from 3 to 4 months. The most common areas for treatment are frown lines, wrinkles in the forehead and crow’s feet.

Aside from quick removal of wrinkles for a refreshed, rejuvenated look, the greatest benefit of Botox is no downtime. Patients can go back to their normal routine immediately.
