Isolaz for Total Skin Beautification

MD Laser & Cosmetics is excited to announce the arrival of Isolaz, the total skin treatment system!

This new photopneumatic device goes beyond lasers, pulsed light, radio frequency and other types of systems to address all key skin concerns. Rated one of the three top products at the 2007 American Academy of Dermatology conference, Isolaz is the leading choice for removal of acne, hair removal, and skin rejuvenation. This system can help repair sun-damaged skin, fade brown spots and eradicate discolored blood vessels.

Photopneumatic therapy combines broadband light with pneumatic (vacuum) energy. The vacuum stretches skin, increasing its surface area as well as the amount of energy transmitted to the target. This enables a treatment that is uniquely safe, effective, painless and fast.

To protect the skin from thermal damage, Isolaz incorporates evaporative cooling technology. This technology makes use of the liquid created on the surface of the skin from the negative pressure exerted by its handpiece. The liquid extracts heat from the tissue and evaporates it at room temperature. Investigators involved with the company’s clinical trials say that results on patients of all skin types have been excellent, with no reported complications or ill effects.

Through October 31, save $100 on treatment!

MD Laser & Cosmetics normally charges $350 per procedure, but through the month of October, we offer Isolaz at the special introductory rate of just $275.  AND, when you mention the special code in this e-newsletter (“ISO”), you will save an additional $25 for an extra-special rate of just $250!

Radiesse Offers Longer Lasting Results

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved Radiesse, a next-generation cosmetic dermal filler, for the long-lasting correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles. Unlike other fillers that last just a few months, Radiesse has been shown to last one year or more.

These results are possible because Radiesse is the first filler that contains calcium-based microspheres. This technology not only provides volume replacement to wrinkles and folds but also stimulates the body to produce new collagen. This unique action restores the fullness and contours of a youthful, healthy appearance.

Studies evaluating Radiesse were conducted at four different medical centers. In these studies, 117 women were treated; half of their face was treated with Radiesse and the other half was treated with collagen. Six months after treatment, 82% of patients experienced an improvement in wrinkles around the mouth and nose (nasolabial folds) with Radiesse. In 95% of the women, results from Radiesse were superior to those from collagen.

Radiesse can also be used to create cheekbones and enhance the contours of the face.

New Way to Freshen Skin: the Photofacial

In the past, the only way to rejuvenate damaged skin was through highly invasive procedures like deep chemical peels and skin resurfacing.

Although they produced excellent results, healing often took many weeks and side effects were common.

But technology has now evolved so that skin rejuvenation can be performed quickly, easily and with minimal downtime.

Using an intense pulsed light system that stimulates the regeneration of collagen and elastin, many effects of sun damage and aging can be eliminated. Within a week or two of treatment, as skin structures begin to repair, sunspots, discolorations and many fine lines and wrinkles will fade or disappear entirely.

In one clinical study evaluating the effects of our equipment, the StarLux, study participants reported an average 65% improvement in the appearance of their skin. The equipment produces such good results that it was nominated as the “Gold Standard” in photofacial therapy at the 2006 Medical Esthetics Conference.

Journee and Bio-Gel Make it Easy to Maintain Lovely Skin

Professional skin rejuvenation treatments re-invigorate the skin...now there's a way to extend the benefits of advanced procedures even longer, so skin will look its best.

Journee and Bio-Gel, developed by Swiss skin care expert Neocutis, offer at-home skin maintenance that helps maintain vitality while protecting the skin from further damage.

Both products combine an optimized mixture of human growth factors, cytokines and interleukins that work together to revitalize the skin.

Called PSP or “Processed Skin Cell Proteins”, this mixture was originally developed at the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland to aid in wound healing and burn treatment.  After it was found that PSP also helped stimulate the creation of new fibroblasts that reduce wrinkles, increase firmness and improve skin quality, Neocutis introduced a set of products designed to work together to enhance skin appearance and extend the results of professional treatments.

Journee is a daily restorative cream that counteracts the effects of aging while hydrating the skin. Containing SPF 30+, Journee is also a powerful sunscreen that shields the skin from both UVA and UVB rays.

Bio-Gel is an intensive treatment that has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles after two months of daily use. In addition to PSP, Bio-Gel also contains sodium hyaluronan, a major component of the extracellular matrix of the skin. In combination with growth factors, sodium hyaluronan plays a key role in wound healing.

Available only from selected physicians, Journee is typically priced at $130 for a 60-day supply and Bio-Gel is priced at $150.
