A few weeks ago - on Saturday, December 1, 2012 - Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend. He also killed himself with a .40 caliber handgun. A few days ago the medical examiner issued the autopsy results.

According to the Jackson County (MO) medical examiner, there were absolutely "no" illegal drugs in Mr. Belcher's body. However, the autopsy report listed a blood-alcohol content of over twice the legal limit. The newspaper headline read "Autopsy: Belcher Was Legally Drunk".

How many of these incidents have to happen before we finally do something about alcohol - especially as it pertains to young people? About 2000 teenagers die every year in alcohol-related car crashes. Most available information tells us that over 200 children, ages 14 and younger, are killed every year in car wrecks involving alcohol. Thirty-five children a year die as pedestrians or bikers when hit by drunk drivers.

Enough is enough! This is not a political issue. This is not a partisan issue. We're talking safety. The government should do something. Joe Biden should hold a hearing, form a commission. President Obama should hold a press conference and, for effect, shed a couple of tears.

Everyone knows what an amazing job Michael Bloomberg is doing in New York, protecting those citizens from soft drinks. How about having a law nationwide that prohibits anyone from purchasing more than 16 ounces of beer? How about the six-pack? No one really needs a six-pack. Can't that be changed? People can walk into a store and buy a case of beer. That's 24 beers. No one really needs 24 beers to get loaded - that's insane! People are dying! The government should do something, right?!

But for now, the focus is on guns. Following are two quotes about what the government should do about guns:

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead into the future."
                        - Adolph Hitler, 1935

"Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority. Firearms and ammunitions found will be forfeited to the government without compensation. Whoever violates the provisions will be punished with imprisonment and a fine."
Nazi Law, 1938

Evidently, the United States is about 75 years behind the times, but we're getting there. Is everybody happy now? Is everybody relieved? Does everybody believe now that our children will be completely safe?

Forget liberty, forget freedom! Who cares? We need gun control! Right?!

Until next time,
God bless everybody and God bless America!

Beef Stew for the Brain
Beef Stew for the Brain, is my best ever. A full hour-and-a-half, including bonus features and extras.

The entire project was filmed in high definition and includes the most requested comedy routine of all time the Fat Woman After Dinner.

We're more excited about this than any in the past. This DVD would not be available if not for my good friends John Boy & Billy on The Big Show.
