Nineteen percent (19%) of Americans use regular tobacco. Effective October 1, 2014, CVS has decided to no longer sell tobacco products in any of their stores.
President Obama said, "I applaud the news that CVS has decided to stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products in its stores." The First Lady, Michelle Obama, said, "Now we can all breathe a little easier and our families can live healthier."
Here is the definition of marijuana: "It is a green, brown or gray mix of dried, crumbled tobacco leaves from the marijuana plant. It is usually rolled up and smoked like a cigarette or cigar or smoked in a pipe ... smoking marijuana can cause some of the same coughing and breathing problems as smoking cigarettes."
President Obama had this to say, "As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid and view it as just a bad habit ... I don't think it's any more dangerous than alcohol."
In layman's terms, here's what all that means - CVS will continue killing people for the next six months until their current inventory of tobacco products is depleted ... Michelle Obama, other than brief visits between various vacation spots, doesn't get out much. Evidently, she doesn't know that one can purchase cigarettes at any number of other stores across the street from CVS ... And our president doesn't know that marijuana is tobacco, is a cigarette.
I don't smoke pot, never have. But I don't mind those who do, it means nothing to me. As a matter of fact, I think it should be legal and taxed. With that said, I also know - as experts tell us - that there is a residual effect of marijuana use. Maybe that's why the president can't hear or understand the message he's sending to the rest of us, which is, "Don't' smoke! But, if you like your marijuana, you can keep your marijuana."
By the way, thirty-six percent (36%), more than one-third of Americans are, obese. Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, diabetes and certain types of cancer. CVS has decided to continue to selling ice cream, cookies, candy and soft drinks in all their stores.
Either CVS has concluded that "The Marlboro Man" is more dangerous than "The Pillsbury Doughboy" or they're smoking the stuff that the president says is "just a bad habit."
Until next time,
God bless everybody and God bless America!
