  • Please bring your diary and be prepared to list known scheduling conflicts.

CALLBACKS

  • Several of the auditioning directors will be holding callbacks immediately following the general auditions.  Please be prepared to be available if called, and ensure that your working cell phone number is on your resume.  A list of actors to be called back will be posted, together with room numbers, at the box office window near the registration desk, at designated times (TBA) throughout the day.
  • Please note that if you are not called back on July 31, this does not necessarily exclude the possibility of your being called back at a later date.  Therefore, please make sure that your contact information is legible and up to date.

DIRECTIONS TO THE AUDITION LOCATION:

Auditions will be held in the Mainstage Theatre in the Performing Arts Building of the HCC Ybor City campus.  The Performing Arts Building is on the corner of Palm Ave and 14th Street and is the tallest building on campus.

A map can be found here: http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Tampa&state=FL&address=E+Palm+Ave+%26+N+Avenida+Republica+de+Cuba&zipcode=33605&country=US&latitude=27.962475&longitude=-82.444235&geocode=INTERSECTION

Note that 14th Street is also known as Avenida Republica De Cuba and street signs in Ybor reflect both names. Both Google and MapQuest also recognize Avenida Republica De Cuba.

There is ample free parking in the HCC lots immediately adjacent to the Performing Arts Building (corner of 15th and Palm and corner of 15th and 11th) and on the street ( there are no meters).

When you arrive at the Performing Arts Building follow the posted signs to the audition registration table.

YOUR AUDITION

On arrival at the Performing Arts Building, please check in at the registration table and complete all paperwork.  Please ensure that the paperwork is completed accurately and legibly – especially phone numbers and email addresses.

Prior to your audition time you will be taken upstairs to the waiting area.  There are two rooms in this area – one is for quiet waiting, the other is for vocal and physical warm-ups – so you can prepare in the way that is best for you.

Just before your audition you will be called to the stage.

When it is your turn, you will enter the stage from upstage left.

If you will be singing, give your music to the accompanist.

Cross to the center of the stage (stand on the “X” ) and speak your name clearly.

Begin your monologue(s) and/or song.  Don’t introduce the pieces; it’s not necessary for the directors to know where the material is from.  They just want to see the wonderful person you are!

When you are done, speak your name again then exit the stage at down stage right.  This will take you out to the upper lobby.

Remember, we want you to do well, so relax and knock our socks off!

If you have questions about any of this on the day of the audition, please ask any of the audition staff or volunteers and they will help you.

See you on July 31st!
