Council Workshop on the Commercial Strategy Study

A Council workshop has been scheduled on Monday, July 7 in the afternoon, to discuss the final Commercial Strategy Study (March 2014) prepared by urbanMetrics and The Planning Partnership.  The discussion with Council, staff internal review, and consultation with the public, agencies, stakeholders and interdepartmental review in the coming months will inform the development of draft commercial lands and mixed use activity areas policy directions for the Official Plan.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours

City Hall - Room 247

*Note: The workshop will be held as part of the Development and Infrastructure Committee Meeting and is targeted to commence at shortly after 1 pm. After addressing regular business items, Council will move to Room 247, where the Council Workshop on the Commercial Strategy Study will be held.  No delegations will be registered and only staff directions and motions to receive and file will be permitted.

Notice: Employment Land Conversion Requests

Burlington is currently assessing its employment land supply and may, through its Official Plan Review, propose the conversion of some of these lands to another land use. It is important that the City assess any requests for employment conversions in a comprehensive manner to ensure the consideration of the total employment land supply and the City's ability to accommodate employment growth to 2031 and beyond.

Written submissions detailing employment conversion requests must be submitted to the City of Burlington by August 1, 2014. Any supporting information for the employment conversion request must be submitted to the City by October 1, 2014. Please direct correspondence to:
