This year's Halloween Movie night will be Friday October 30th.
We are lucky enough to have 2 movies showing this month:

This month's main feature in the Gym: Monsters Inc
 
Bring your pillows; sleeping bags; comfy chairs; stuffed animals and have a great time hanging out with your friends!!
WHEN: Friday October 30th - doors open @6:30pm
(Movies start at 7pm)
WHERE: Jockvale Elementary School
COST: $3.00 per person
Popcorn, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
Parents MUST accompany & supervise their children

 The
Parent Resource Library books are available on a wide range of parenting
topics. These books are here for you when you need help with a
topic, or just for casual reading.
Where
are these books located? They
are in the Jockvale School Library just by the librarian’s desk and they can be
checked out during school hours for 2 weeks.
If you are unable to come to the school to
check out a book please go to our
website, click on the Parent Resource Library icon and you can request the book
you are looking for be sent home with your child!!

| Help Plan the 2010/2011 School Year Calendar |
 The planning for next year's school calendar has already begun, and once again they Board is looking for input on how to schedule all the necessary days given the need for an early start in September 2010.
The Ottawa Carleton Assembly of School Councils (OCASC) is asking for parent input on a proposal they are putting forward to the school board on how to schedule 2 "extra" holiday days.

| Lunch Program Update & Info |
Our school lunch program is now complete with Pizza Days, Lunch Lady Days, and Hot Dog Days to begin next Thursday!
Lunch Lady: Don't forget if you order your Lunch Lady meals online you can log on and cancel/change your child's lunch in the event of a field trip! If you cancel an order you will receive a receive a credit that you can use one your next order.
To make tracking your Lunch Lady meals easier we have designed this handy chart for you to keep on the fridge (PDF)
An updated version of the lunch program calendar as well as our lunch program policy on snow days and refund is available on our website.

| Next Parent Council Meeting is Wed. Oct 28th |

Please join us on Wednesday October 28th in the school library at 6:30pm for our next Parent Council Meeting.
We would love to see you there. Come out and meet the new parents on the council, grab a coffee and find out what's what at Jockvale. Don't forget we have childcare available for children over 3 years.
